The concept of this band was developed in 2001 when bass player Andrew Schwartz and lead guitarist Matt Murray began
the search for what they thought would be a 5 piece band. On thier search they came across rhythm guitarist Michael Hardesty,
and drummer Brian Hooven. From that point the four guys began to write the music for the band while they continued their search
for a singer. They eventually wrote their first song and began to record it, called Save Me, and found guest vocalist Karli
Boone to sing a version of it. After recording of that finished the band realized they needed a permanent singer to fit their
genre. Hardesty stepped up and offered to give it a shot. The rest is history. From the point on songs began to come pouring
out as well as shows, and 2004 has been the most accomplishing year yet for the band. Creating their own genre of music by
mixing all of their favorite music, Riot Breed has created a sound of their own. They mix the vocals like that of Pearl
Jam's Vedder with punk music, as well as sounds similar to Dashboard Confessional, AC/DC and Metallica, to create a sound
that hits all their musical sweet spots. On the same CD you may find a calm acoustic song right next to a song loud, hard
and fast enough to be on a Metallica album.
